Erwin’76 Journal Needs Redesign, Fresh Content

After many months of working to find a reliable hosting server for this Web site and all the others I work on, I’m happy to report that it has been accomplished. The next step is to spend some time working on a redesign upgrade of this template.
And as always, we are looking for fresh content in the form of new stories from those who attended Erwin High School in the 1970s.
Before long, Jefferson County will build a new high school and who knows what the fate of Erwin will be. Chances are, it will cease to exist.
But the bicentennial class of 1976 is committed to keeping this site up so members of the class, as well as other students from the same era, can keep in touch.
Maybe someone should start a Facebook page for the class to go along with this photo archive and blog.
Also, the domain name bill of $120 a year will be coming due in August, so we need to think about passing around the collection plate to take care of that. If you like this site and want to help keep it up, get in touch…
Class of 1977 30-Year Reunion?

Kyle Richardson of the Erwin class of 1977 sent us a note asking if anyone has heard about a 30-year reunion for that class. Since many of the folks from the class of ‘77 joined up with the class of ‘76 and ‘78 in last year’s reunion, it might seem a bit redundant. But if you hear anything, let us know and we’ll put up a blurb about it.
Kyle says Ervin Cash was the class president that year. “Wonder where he is?” he asked.

A couple of new, cool kindergarten shots have been added to the Erwin Memories section.
Take a close look at the shepherds in the second shot to see if you can guess any of the identities.

Hint: One of the shepherds is also in this shot.
Erwin76.Net Website Update

Since the check for the server hosting fee arrived in the mail today, and since It’s way too cold to go outside and play anyway, I spent the day going back over the Erwin76.Net Website.
If you’ve been here before, you may notice a remake of the front page image, for starters. If anyone else has other great ideas for an entry page - or knows a graphic artist - get in touch.
We designed a new banner image for the Journal, and re-jiggered most of the photos from the 30th reunion in a new version of Adobe Photoshop - making them clearer and in some cases bigger.
We took some of the images off the first photo page and made a second one, adding new photos along the way - some e-mailed to us from other members of the class.

We still have a few missing IDs, so help us out by making sure we get everyone’s name right.
Feel free to make comments or send in stories about people in the photos.
We still plan on adding new features.
1. Funny stroies from the past about people in the photos.
2. A list of class members who are no longer around to party with us.
3. A contact page where folks can list their e-mail addresses, so lost members of the class can find old friends and get back in touch.
4. Updates on where people are and what they are doing today.
If you can think of anything else we could do that would be cool, feel free to let us know…
