Walk for Suicide Prevention
Posted by Glynn Wilson in Class Member Updates on October 26th, 2009

A Letter From Rachel Caddell
Dear Erwin alumni friends,
I registered for but missed our 30 year class reunion, which was held shortly after we lost my son, Brian McCormick, to suicide on August 2, 2006.
I would be honored if you would walk with me in the Alabama Walk for Suicide Prevention, Nov. 8, at Heardmont Park, North Shelby County, whether you donate to this cause or not.
I have a personal fund-raising goal, along with a team goal. The team name is “Brian McCormick Family and Friends.”
Even more important than supporting this foundation financially, I would encourage us to reach out to others at all times in love and openness in the hopes we might assist in bringing them “out of the darkness” that can at times overwhelm others, and even us. I am blessed with wonderful family and friends who have and continue to be my angels of light.
With all my love and in loving memory of Brian.
Rachel
I will walk in remembrance of my son Brian McCormick who we lost to suicide on August 2, 2006.

Erwin76.Net editor Glynn “Cowboy” Wilson made it onto the radio Wednesday to tryout as Paul Finebaum’s new sidekick on WJOX FM, 100.5, from 2-4 p.m. every week day in Birmingham.
The voting on Wilson is now over, but you can still get in on the action at Finebaum.Com.
You can also read Wilson’s story from Tuscaloosa about the changes going on in T-Town with the start of spring practice under new Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban at LocustFork.Net.
And you can read what Wilson wrote about his appearance on the show on the Journal blog under the headline: Locust Fork Editor Tries Out As Finebaum’s Radio Sidekick.
Don’t forget to send us other classmate updates at fast2write@charter.net.
